OUR STORY

Professional Computer Support (PCS) is a complete technology solutions provider for organizations with 10-300 employees in the greater Bay Area. Founded in 1989, we at PCS have established ourselves as leaders in the community and industry for our dedication to delivering the highest quality of expertise and customer service.

But how does our expertise and customer service differ from every other IT provider in San Francisco?

Our President and leadership team each have nearly 30 years of corporate and non profit IT experience. In fact, other tech companies hire us for large projects because no one has technicians more skilled at networking and designing IT infrastructure, period. Our focus on teamwork and collaboration means that our leadership team is involved with every single client. We work together to find creative solutions to problems that individually, we might not have thought of. While we might send only one technician to complete a job, he or she has the knowledge and support of the entire PCS team behind him or her.

What makes good customer service? We want to provide the best service possible and so we asked our clients to help us define what that means. From their collective experiences, our clients told us that good customer service means that an IT provider is responsive, does not need to be contacted more than once to address a problem, provides staff that are easily accessible and who are friendly, honest, and who will develop long-term relationships with their clients. Here at PCS, we use these parameters as the starting point for employee and company expectations. Being responsive and ensuring that every employee remain easily accessible and upholds the highest level of professionalism are basic standards at PCS. Our technicians go above and beyond our clients’ expectations and we expect nothing less.

We at Professional Computer Support are grateful to the communities that support us. PCS is involved in a variety of non profit work. Our President, Dan Hernandez, is on the Board of Directors for the Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center and on the committee for the Napa Valley Ride to Defeat ALS.

THE TENDERLOIN NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION CASE STUDY

The Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Cooperation (TNDC) is a valued client of Professional Computer Support. We believe in what they do and strive to manage their technology in such a way that strengthens the organization.

The following is a partial list of the services and projects we have completed for TNDC over the years:

  • We increased  their internet speed and reduced internet costs from $159/month to $89/month!
  • We upgraded them to Comcast fiber that operates at 100 Megabytes down and 100 Megabytes up AND we got the monthly costs subsidized at 50% by the TeleConnect fund.
  • We granted local users admin rights, eliminating Help Desk calls for updates, access to webinars and adding applications, which reduced employee downtime on a daily basis.
  • Using TechSoup grants, we provide roughly $30,000 worth of Cisco equipment for just $3,000, every two years!
  • We virtualized 15 servers using three Dell servers as host servers and the Microsoft Windows Hyper V. This allows for easy management, further reducing costs and the time previously spent managing those servers.
  • We obtained a donation from Microsoft for a free Microsoft Office 365 subscription for their business!
  • That Office 365 subscription saved TNDC $1,000 per month for Citrix GoToMeeting services by granting them the ability to install Microsoft Lync (Skype for Business) for free!
  • We obtained a $30,000 grant from the Bothin Foundation to upgrade the offices to a new, state-of-the-art VoIP phone system.
